He was interviewed on the Today Show. He's Republican, isn't he?

Talk about not taking any responsibility. To Viera's credit, she went after him, talking about 50+ former wrestlers dying of roids, but he said "I can only speak to five deaths, because those are the people who died as WWE wrestlers, and anybody else could have started after they left my employ"

Sharight. Like *after* they leave the top company in the business, they'd start juicing...

Maybe now this will do it - sadly - because not only did he die, he murdered his wife and young son.

Eddie Guerrero died of roid complications. Sherry Martel (Sensational Sherri) is also rumoured to have died of roid complications. The British Bulldog...so many have died of roids and that's not even beginning to look at the folks who just totally fucked up their lives.

McMahon could do every young athlete in America-- wrestler, baseball player, football player-- a great service by talking honestly about what roids do to people.

DL,

I've followed this story somewhat. When I heard about it Monday, I immediately tuned in "RAW", and saw all the very heartfelt tributes to Benoit, and wondered how a man who's obviously in great shape could be murdered in his own home without a gun (since at that point, no one was talking murder-suicide). And oh those accolades!

As a lark, I tuned in ECW last night. Nary a word beyond Vince calling it a terrible tragedy and dedicating the show to the "victims". One wonders if, in a fit of Republican revisionism, Vince will now be erasing the tape of Monday's show? How many of those "superstars" now feel ashamed of the things they said..."family man"..."loved his wife and kids"...and all that, especially in light of the troubled family history they had.

Nancy had quietly filed for divorce back in 2003, citing violent and aggressive behavior, but withdrew her claim once Chris agreed to seek help. I'm amazed that I knew that, but that none of the media outlets reported on it.
