A fireman friend sends this bit of news today:

‘Gopher bomb’ starts Danville grass fire

DANVILLE - A rodent extermination device started a grass fire Sunday that came close to several homes, officials said Monday.
“The cause was a gopher bomb that caught the grass on fire,” San Ramon
Valley Battalion Chief Mike Brown said.

The 10- to 12-acre blaze was reported at 5:47 p.m. on Leafield Road, off
Blackhawk Road. Crews from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District
and Cal Fire, including two helicopters and four air-tankers, responded.

Firefighters took precautions to protect some of the homes, and some
residents voluntarily evacuated their homes, Brown said.

The fire was contained at 6:39 p.m. No one was hurt and no property was
damaged.


Gopher = the BOMB!
