The whole movie should be an allegory about the hell Obama has promised to unleash on the Iraqi people should he win the election. Great stories ask and answer what if…? What if we abandoned millions of innocents to Iranian backed jihadists? What if we abandoned them because it was just too hard to liberate them? What if, thanks to weak-kneed liberal politicians, those millions of innocents fed into a meat grinder were Americans?
In my hands it would be set in Manhattan because an island’s easier for the terrorists to defend and chock-full of appeasers in desperate need of a wake-up call. The scene with a herd of Greenwich Village liberals being shoved into burqas writes itself.
Crazy is thinking that the world needs a remake of Red Dawn, Batshit Crazy is the two paragraphs above. Via Whiskey Fire.
Shorter Hillary Clinton: “I am more appealing to White People, especially uneducated ones.”
And it’s not just the Hillary. Her supporters are actually lurching down this path, too. Talk Left, via Oliver Willis:
In Pennsylvania, Clinton won whites 18-29 (52-48), 30-44 (58-42), 45-59 (63-37), 60+ (68-32). In North Carolina, whites 18-29, just 8% of the vote, went for Obama 57-41. But whites 30-44 went for Clinton (52-45), 45-59 (64-33), 60+ (69-29).
I’ve crunched the numbers, looked them over again and again, then again with a sprinkling of eye of newt and found the weakness in Barack Obama’s candidacy:
He’s getting too many votes.
In 32 out of the 47 contests more people have voted and caucused for Sen. Obama than for Sen. Clinton. Why is the media not reporting on this? They spend so much time on the slicing and dicing of the electorate highlighting ad nauseam which blocs are voting for and against a candidate when the writing is on the wall.
More people are voting for Sen. Obama and that’s a huge problem in the fall. If we extrapolate this trend, it’s possible that he could, in the general election, have more votes than any other presidential candidate in history! The nomination process will be a mockery of the highest order if Howard Dean and the DNC sit back and allow the person with the most votes and most supporters to walk away with the nomination. This isn’t what we all signed up for.
I wasn’t paying attention too closely, but how, all of a sudden, is Hillary the progressive trying to buck the establishment while, in the eyes of the Clintonistas, Obama is somehow the insider, a corporate machine candidate reincarnation reminiscent of some of the worst excesses of Tameny Hall?
First, Hillary Clinton excoriates Bush for allowing an American company to be sold and the jobs shipped overseas:
Hillary Clinton loves to tell the story about how the Chinese government bought a good American company in Indiana, laid off all its workers and moved its critical defense technology work to China.
It’s a story with a dramatic, political ending. Republican President George W. Bush could have stopped it, but he didn’t.
If she were president, Clinton says, she’d fight to protect those jobs. It’s just the kind of talk that’s helping her win support from working-class Democrats worried about their jobs and paychecks, not to mention their country’s security.
What Clinton never includes in the oft-repeated tale is the role that prominent Democrats played in selling the company and its technology to the Chinese. She never mentions that big-time Democratic contributor George Soros helped put together the deal to sell the company or that the sale was approved by her husband’s administration.
Second, an appearance on FoxNews’s The O’Reilly Factor with the unctuous fallalfel-waving Bill-O to denounce Barrack Obama via the popular surrogate of Flogging Jeremiah Wright:
Hillary Rodham Clinton said Wednesday she found remarks by Barack Obama’s former pastor to be “offensive and outrageous” and noted that her Democratic rival had spoken out forcefully against them.
“I think that he made his views clear, finally, that he disagreed. And I think that’s what he had to do,” Clinton said in an interview with Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly. The network released excerpts of the taped interview ahead of its airing Wednesday night.
It was the former first lady’s first appearance on the O’Reilly show, the most popular Fox News program and a staple of conservative media. Over the years, O’Reilly has been a staunch critic of both the New York senator and her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
Campaign aides said her appearance on the Fox News show was designed to reach out to working-class, independent white men who could decide the outcome of next week’s Indiana primary.
The latest Barack Obama controversy, after Bitter-gate. Fingergate.
During a speech, Obama scratched his cheek with his finger. His middle finger. So obviously, say some, he is giving Hillary Clinton the finger.
Except he isn’t pointing the finger forward, doesn’t appear to be curling his other fingers to make a fist with his hand, and doesn’t even curl his index finger down (look at the photo below from the LATimes link) so therefore appears to be giving Hillary a couple of fingers, whatever that means.
All I can conclude is that if, as the batshit crazy, or pro-Hillary camps believe, Obama is giving Hillary the finger, he has a lot to learn about proper presentation. This may be the one area in which our current President has excelled. Here is a much better example of the firm, unambiguous flipping of the bird:
MORE:John Cole also notices something problematic with the “OMG, Obama gave Hillary the finger!” hysteria, and a photograph taken from the side which rather conclusively debunks the single finger from the grassy knoll theory.
And MyDD has a comment with a frame-by-frame breakdown showing Obama raising two fingers, not one.
Pope Wazanazi speaks out on the ills of US society:
Pope Benedict tempered his praise for American religious tolerance on Wednesday with a warning that U.S. society can quietly undermine Catholicism by reducing all faiths to a lowest common denominator.
~~~
“It is not enough to count on this traditional religiosity and go about business as usual, even as its foundations are being slowly undermined,” he warned the bishops gathered at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington.
The “American brand of secularism,” he said, “can subtly reduce religious belief to a lowest common denominator.”
Maybe you should worry about your priests fucking American children before you worry about American secularism and tolerance reducing religious beliefs to a lowest common denominator.
Archdioceses across the country are liquidating church-owned properties to pay off judgments to children molested by Catholic priests, and Pope Ratfucker is worried about secularism?
According to the Center for Disease Control, a quarter of teenage girls — more than 3 million — have a sexually transmitted disease. There doesn’t appear to be any corresponding research for teenage boys.
CHICAGO (AP) — At least one in four teenage girls nationwide has a sexually transmitted disease, or more than 3 million teens, according to the first study of its kind in this age group.
A virus that causes cervical cancer is by far the most common sexually transmitted infection in teen girls ages 14 to 19, while the highest overall prevalence is among black girls — nearly half the blacks studied had at least one STD. That rate compared with 20% among both whites and Mexican-American teens, the study from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found.
About half of the girls acknowledged ever having sex; among them, the rate was 40%. While some teens define sex as only intercourse, other types of intimate behavior including oral sex can spread some infections.
For many, the numbers likely seem “overwhelming because you’re talking about nearly half of the sexually experienced teens at any one time having evidence of an STD,” said Dr. Margaret Blythe, an adolescent medicine specialist at Indiana University School of Medicine and head of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ committee on adolescence.
I hate to come off like a prude or seem naive, but I find the fact that 3 million teenage girls have or have had a sexually transmitted disease a bit disturbing.
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Deputies say a woman in western Kansas became stuck on her boyfriend’s toilet after sitting on it for two years. Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said the 35-year-old Ness City woman initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital. “We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital,” Whipple said. “The hospital removed it.” “She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body,” Whipple said. “It is hard to imagine. … I still have a hard time imagining it myself . . . According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom.”
But McFarren said Babcock moved around in the bathroom during that time, bathed and changed into the clothes he brought her. He said they conversed and had an otherwise normal relationship — except that it all happened in the bathroom.
According to court documents, Isenhour got upset when a red-shouldered hawk began making noise, forcing another take. He began hitting balls at the bird, then 300 yards away, but gave up.
Isenhour started again when the hawk moved within about 75 yards, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer Brian Baine indicated in a report.
Isenhour allegedly said “I’ll get him now,” and aimed for the hawk.
“About the sixth ball came very near the bird’s head, and [Isenhour] was very excited that it was so close,” Baine wrote.
A few shots later, witnesses said he hit the hawk. The bird, protected as a migratory species, fell to the ground bleeding from both nostrils.
